It has been three years since we left behind our life in California. Three years since we made the announcement that we were moving to Canada. Three years since we started a new adventures as immigrants in a country that is so close to home, yet so very different. And now, after three life changing years, we are on to our next adventure.
We will be forever thankful for the time we spent here in Canada. We have met some of the most amazing people we will ever know. We built friendships that will forever have an impact on our life. We have the most beautiful townhouse that quickly became our home. Carter and Monroe only know life in Canada and God gave us the best little Canadian souvenir when He gave us Eli.
It is never easy to say good bye, but it is clear to us that it is time. For whatever reason, God brought us to Toronto and now He has decided it is time for us to move on. And even though leaving is so dang hard, we are super excited for whatever is next.
I know a lot of you want to know what is next for us, but the truth is that we don’t even know yet. We do know we will be living with my mom in Chicago until the new year and we know we want to spend some time traveling. Other than that, the world is our oyster.
Thank you Toronto for being home to my kids for the last three years. Thank you for giving us first days of school, first snow angels, and first roller coaster rides. Thank you for the friends you brought into our life, the camping trips, the weekend getaways, the beach days, and the super late summer sunsets. Thank you for teaching me how hard it is to be an immigrant and for pushing my boundaries. But, more than anything, thank you Toronto for strengthening my marriage, growing my confidence as a wife and mother, and for my sweet little baby boy Eli. You have been good to us.
Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
