When the girls from Social Common asked if they could come to our home for a home tour segment on their YoutTube channel, I was hesitant. We don’t own our home, we rent, so most of the fixtures, the cabinetry, the floors aren’t something I would chose. I was unsure if I wanted to share the inside of our rental with the world, knowing that much of the design wasn’t even my decision.
I has taken me a long time to feel like Toronto is our home and some days I am still not sure how I feel about it, but I have put a lot of effort into making this place, a place we feel comfortable and a place we can call home. Most of what we have is Ikea or something else we could find cheap, because we never know what will or won’t fit into our next rental. We would hate to invest in a nice couch that won’t even fit into our next living room if we end up moving again. Never the less, we love the look of our home and it perfectly our style. So in the end, I realized even though I didn’t choose the more permanent features of our condo, I did chose the decor and I am pretty proud of how it turned out so I said yes, come on over, film the home tour.
Watching our home tour on youtube is a good reminded of just how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful space. Honestly, every other rental in our neighborhood is way out of our budget so God really brought this place to us.
I hope you enjoy taking a look inside of our home.
